Ambassador Stephenson Addresses Portugal-US Friendship Association

On September 11, 2008, the U.S. Ambassador to Portugal Thomas Stephenson delivered the closing remarks at a lunch hosted by the Portugal-US Friendship Association, which was founded after the 9/11 attacks to express Portuguese solidarity with the American people and promote the development of economic, social, political and cultural relations between our two countries.
Over 80 members and guests as well as media representatives attended the lunch-time discussion on “The World After the Next U.S. Elections,” which featured remarks by two prominent Portuguese academics, Professor Carlos Gaspar and Professor João Carlos Espada.
