May 28 - Former and current employees of the U.S. Embassy in Lisbon gathered to celebrate the anniversary of the Chancery that moved its facilities from Avenida Duque de Loulé to its present location a quarter of a century ago.

Visiting us for the occasion were former Ambassadors Everett E. Briggs and Gerald S. McGowan. The program included among other delights – remarks from the two former chiefs of mission, a special message from former Secretary of State George Shultz (who dedicated the building), another from current Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton, testimonials from local employees who were here when the Embassy opened, and a special musical tribute created especially for the “silver anniversary.”
