Embassy's Commercial Section Promotes "Invest in America" Seminar

May 6 - The U.S. Embassy in Lisbon and the American Chamber of Commerce in Portugal jointly organized a seminar titled “Invest in America.”
With the objective of boosting commercial ties between Portugal and the U.S., the event counted on the participation of representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce, seven U.S. states and Puerto Rico, and from Portuguese businesses operating in the United States.
The seminar started with opening remarks delivered by the chairman of the Board of Directors of the C.G.D. bank, Fernando Faria de Oliveira, followed by the President of the Luso-American Development Foundation, Rui Machete, the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Portugal, José Joaquim de Oliveira, and the U.S. Ambassador to Portugal, Thomas F. Stephenson. Throughout the day, several experts talked about “Investment Considerations for Portuguese Businesses,” gave an “Overview of States’ Investment Climates,” and presented interesting case studies.
