U.S. Embassy Suppports International Symposium on Edgar Allan Poe

March 18-20 - The celebration of Edgar Allen Poe’s 200th birthday was organized by the University of Lisbon Center for English Studies.

The symposium “Poe and Gothic Creativity” focuses on themes associated with gothic fiction and its relationship with other forms of art and culture and brings together scholars and the larger cultural and artistic community.

OPA supported this symposium by bring keynote speaker, Prof. Fred Botting, an internationally recognized expert on Poe, romanticism and literary theory.
