March 14 - American scientist Larry Constantine was one of the keynote speakers at the Science Gala, in Figueira da Foz, an annual award ceremony promoted by online publication Ciência Hoje with the support of the Portuguese Government, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and scientific organization ALTEC.

His presentation titled “Science and Technology – A New Obama Order” had a very attentive audience of some 200, which included Portugal’s Science Minister, Mariano Gago, and top-notch Portuguese scientists such as Alexandre Quintanilha and Elvira Fortunato.

Larry Constantine, a world-recognized leader in design methodology and product usability, is currently teaching at the University of Madeira. In April, Constantine will be heading back to the U.S. to receive the prestigious Stevens Award and be the keynote speaker at a conference in Salt Lake City.
