Jan. 7 - Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Thomas Shannon made a one-day stop in Lisbon on January 7, 2009 to meet with Portuguese government officials as well as Latin American Ambassadors.

During the visit, he also gave an interview to the weekly newspaper Expresso.
